We Cannot Raise the Next Generation in Spiritual Vacuum, says AE-FUNAI VC
The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba said the university cannot continue to raise the next generation of youths in spiritual vacuum.
The Vice-Chancellor stated this during a 2-day prayer summit tagged “It’s My Life”, organized in the university to awaken spiritual consciousness and right mental attitude among the staff and students of the university held at the new 2, 500 capacity university auditorium.
“We cannot raise the next generation in a spiritual vacuum. We need to fill the right spirituality into the minds of the next generation”, he stated, adding that “from the moment people choose unbridled liberalism, things have turned upside down for the youth.”
The Vice-Chancellor further noted that the university was at a stage where it was defining its culture, image and reputation in order to shape its future to ensure that its academic activities were sustainable.
Espousing the theme of the summit, “It’s My Life”, the Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Ephraim O. Ikeakor, highlighted the evils of Civilization, Modernization, Modernism and post Modernism on the lives of 21st century youths.
He further maintained that the activities of the Counter Culture Movement have led to the introduction of some perverse behavious such as lesbianism, gay marriage, transgender activities, homosexuality and the likes, adding that relativism was another serious evil hindering the growth and development of youths.
He also noted that “It’s My Life” was a deadly and satanic philosophy and ideology, urging the youth never to undermine the role of God and parents in their affairs.
“Without divine and parental covering, your life will be in shambles”, he concluded.
