“OCHIAGHA JESUS” DONATES N2M FOR AE-FUNAI PG SCHOOL
- As Professor Eze donates a truck-load of coconut trees
A philanthropist and socialite, Chief (Dr) Bestman Anekwe, popularly known as ‘Ochiagha Jesus”, has donated N2million as Endowment Fund for the construction of the postgraduate school of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State.
This news was conveyed by his son, Mr. Chike Anekwe when he visited the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba in his office.
Speaking on the rationale for the donation, Anekwe noted that his father was into full-time philanthropy, adding that it was in his nature to support and aid good academic ambiance.
He maintained that his father was attracted by the good academic works being championed in the university by the Vice-Chancellor since his assumption of office, stressing that the money was meant to help the university to start the construction of its postgraduate building. He also stated that further assistance would be made as the construction works progress.
Meanwhile, Professor Chiedozie C. Eze, an adjunct staff in the Department of Economics and Development Studies has also donated a truck load of coconut trees to the university. The donation was made in support of the Campus-green Initiative of the Vice-Chancellor, geared towards making the university the greenest campus in Nigeria.
Expressing his gratitude to the donors, the Vice-Chancellor promised to channel the resources towards the development of the university, thanking them for recognizing the modest works going on in the institution. He further used the opportunity to call on the organized private sector, good-spirited individuals and people of goodwill to support the vision of making the university a world-class centre of learning and research by donating to the University’s Endowment Fund.
