National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Abuja on Wednesday 10th July, 2019, paid courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba. The visit was to brief the VC on the planned workshop for Ebonyi state youths and students of AE-FUNAI and to solicit for support and active participation of students in the media literacy and capacity building forum, which the board is organizing for students across country.

Prof. Philip Omoke, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, who received the visitors on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, thanked them and iterates that the university needs such opportunities to impart new ideas to the young minds. He posited that the university has good breeds that are ready to utilize such avenue and promised to support the team throughout their stay in the campus.

Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, Executive Director, NFVCB and leader of the team, stated that the board has successfully organized similar workshops in many universities such as ABU, Igbinedion, Nassrawa state university, Benue State University, Lagos State University, and now AE-FUNAI. He maintained that institutions that are tipped for the project have the requisite qualities and knowledge that form basis for the selection.

The University Director, Center for Research and Development, Prof. Dennis Akor, who actually facilitated the choice of AE- FUNAI and the visit, noted that the workshop is organized by the centre in collaboration with NFVCB to train Ebonyi Youths and AE-FUNAI students on film classification technique at 50-50 percent ratio selection among the two groups.
