FUNAI TO REWARD OUTSTANDING STAFF – REGISTRAR
The Management of Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State is poised to reward diligent, efficient and outstanding staff of the institution.
This hint was dropped by the Registrar of the University, Mrs. Odisa C. Okeke recently when he had an interactive meeting with junior staff of the University at the Senate Chamber.
Okeke noted that Management was genuinely interested in improving the welfare and capacity of staff, advising them to breast up to their responsibilities in other to put the University in higher pedestal.
“FUNAI is a special University with the special mandate of becoming a world-class institution
“But this University cannot become world-class without the efficient service delivery of the junior staff”, she stated.
The Registrar further stressed that Registry staff are critical partners in achieving the vision of the University, adding that every staff is very important in the University system.
Admonishing the staff to take their jobs seriously, Okeke harped on the need for the junior staff to respect constituted authorities and their superiors in the course of discharging their responsibilities, advising them to shun rumour mongering and un-clarified assumptions.
“I urge you to always maintain confidentiality in the discharge of your duties. Ask questions if you are in doubt, in other to reduce incidence of rumour mongering among staff”, she stated.
Okeke maintained that the University Management was interested in training the entire workforce of the institution to make them proactive and more productive in discharging their job schedules, noting that the Centre for Human Resource Development was established to achieve the purpose. She added that the Registry Department on their part was also geared towards carrying out targeted in-house training programmes for both senior and junior staff of the department to augment the activities of the Management
