FUNAI SETS TO REPOSITION THE REGISTRY DEPARTMENT
The Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State is set to reposition its Registry Department to make it relevant, to be able to meet the demands of a modern administrative system.
This was hinted by the Registrar of the University, Mrs. Odisa Okeke when she met with the Senior Registry Staff of the institution.
She used the opportunity to call on staff of the department to make the necessary adjustments in their attitude and other aspects of work life in other to meet the expectations of the University.
“It is expected that whatever you do, it must be geared towards the achievement of the vision of the University
“Without an efficient service delivery by the Registry staff, the University administrative system will ground to a halt
“You are expected to service the different organs of the University such as the Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation and various committees
“You should therefore know that your different job schedules are important and critical to the attainment of the University goals and objectives
“So all hands must be on deck”, she enthused.
In discharging their duties, the Registrar advised the staff to be properly guided by the University rules and regulations, charging them to ensure that official information and decisions remain classified to those not allowed to be privy to it.
“Your position does not confer on you the right to divulge official information”, she stated.
In the area of capacity building, she noted that the department was poised to organize a 12-week hands-on in-house workshop where staff would be exposed to modern administrative techniques to shore up their work efficiency and performance, and advised them to sit-up in their work-related activities.
