FUNAI GIVES 15 PIONEER GRADUATES AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT

As part of its policy of rewarding academic excellence that is matched with unbridled integrity the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State has given automatic employment to 15 of its pioneer graduates that achieved First Class honours degrees in their respective disciplines.

This was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba during the recently held maiden convocation ceremony of the University. The Vice Chancellor stated that the Senate of the University had decided to offer automatic employment opportunities to them as Graduate Assistants in their respective disciplines, noting that it would take effect immediately they complete their National Youth Service.

Prof. Nwajiuba further stated that the offer was to help the young graduates by mentoring them within the University environment to become notable academics in their chosen fields to possess the capacities to play in the globalized economy.

Speaking on this gesture by the University, one of the recipients of the largesse and the overall best graduating student of the class of ‘16, Mr. Mc-Anthony Nnorom averred that it has shown that hard work still pays, and urged other students of the University to be spurred by their achievement and put in extra efforts in their academics and other endeavours.

Having gone through the pioneering experience of the University, the young graduates who have internalized the necessary traits needed to perform at high levels if properly guided would be mentored by more experienced academics as they commence their career trajectory in the institution.
