On Tuesday August 6, 2019, Ambassador of France in Nigeria, Mr Jerome PASQUIER, hosted farewell cocktail in honour of Mr Arnaud Dornon, Councillor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs, Director Institut Francais, Embassy of France in Nigeria, to mark his retirement from service. Mr Dornon has worked in Nigeria for 4 years and is retiring from active service, after 42 years of a fulfilling career.

Vice-Chancellor of Alex-Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, accompanied by Dr. Nnenna Nwosu, Director, French Centre, graced the occasion, to show appreciation to Mr Arnaud. Chief among the reasons AEFUNAI was represented at the event is that Mr. Dornon facilitated the following: Signing of  MoU for the FRANCO-FUNAI Joint Scholarship Programme, which currently has 35 academic staff of AEFUNAI studying in France; France international recognition of Director, French Centre, Dr. Nnenna Nwosu, who was surprised to be honoured with award of ‘’Chevalier dans I’’ordre des Palmes academiques’’ on 24th April, 2018 and the visit to AEFUNAI  by  immediate past Ambassador of France in Nigeria, Mr Denys GAUER.

While presenting a souvenir to Mr Dornon, VC, Prof. Nwajiuba expressed deep gratitude to him on behalf of staff and students of AEFUNAI and prayed that his successor will sustain the existing relationship, to enable AEFUNAI achieve its main objective of becoming the ‘’French University in Nigeria’’.
