BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CENTRE
The Centre for Human Resources Development (CHRD) was established on 30th March, 2017 by Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, Vice Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State. The CHRD which is otherwise referred to as AE-FUNAI Training School, is saddled with the responsibility of training and re-training staff of the University for their improved productivity, personal and professional development. The affairs of the Centre had been conducted by Prof. Chinyere C.P. Nnorom (April – August, 2017), Prof. Jonathan Olufemi Adeyeye (September 2017 – August 2018) and Currently by Dr. Onyebuchi Chima (September 2018 -).
The Centre, from inception, has engaged in a number of internal training programmes for both teaching and non-teaching staff of the University with a view to expanding the scope of its training services to external clientele from the public and private sector: ministries, industries and institutions. In order to ensure that the training provided by the Centre are in tendam with professional and industry quality standard, the CHRD is affiliated to reputable professional bodies.
The Centre is equipped with all the necessary resources and facilities (human and materials) for the provision of training services that are globally competitive. The public is therefore invited to take advantage of the basic and professional training services provided by CHRD in order to improve on their institutional and human capacity development.Thank you.
For effective administrative purposes, the activities of the Centre are split into four broad Administrative Units namely:
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
These Units are headed by selected personnel of the University and are referred to as facilitators.
Mission and Objectives:
The Centre for Human Resources Development primarily provide training to all AE-FUNAI Staff and to developed format for the evaluation of staff development processes.
- The Centre for Human Resources Development (CHRD) is the hub through which quality and professional training shall be provided to staff. The Centre shall design staff training needs format development programmes/events for all staff cadres: Junior, Senior (teaching and non – teaching) and management.
- The (CHRD) shall provide training and development service to educated workforce particularly those whose employment and career enhancement depend mainly on improving their technical, professional and managerial skills both within and outside the University.
