Vice Chancellor's Welcome
I welcome our stakeholders, prospective students, staff, and the local and international community to the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) Ebonyi State Nigeria.
The University was set up by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR on the 26th of February 2011 in order to improve higher education and expand access to quality education to all parts of Nigeria.
FUNAI is determined to be a critical channel to shape the future through deep, inclusive and sustainable contributions to the Nigerian society. It is in this regard that the motto of the University is "Excellence and Integrity". The campus is situated on 435.726 hectares of land and the team of master planners are being coordinated by Messers James Cubbits Architects and their objective is to develop a 1st class University campus as shown in the master plan which takes advantage of the topography of the environment.
The students for the university shall be carefully screened to ensure that only those that will benefit from the University education and add value to the society will be admitted. This criterion will also apply to staff as well, the lecturers must each have earned a doctorate and must be properly referenced individuals who share the vision of an excellent university.
The University will start with 3 Faculties with 13 departments/programmes. The inaugural faculties are:
